Default 3rd gear problem, need input on what the dealerships have told YOU.

Ok, im having a hard time finding a mod friendly dealership here in Houston, tx. What i want to know is, how many of you got it covered under warranty, and what mods did you have done to the car?

My car has tein stechs, a jwt intake, and kinetix v+ plenum. I have an exhaust, but its not installed yet. Will the dealer ship deny my claim if i take the car to them with these mods? I already informed them of the mods and the service rep told me it would be the shop foremans call, he said the biggest problem would be the drop (which is only .6 inches) but the 20s on the car raise the ground clearance back to stock height. the rest of my mods are cosmetic.

I just want to know if i should work on getting the oem intake and plenum back on the car before i take it in on monday. The springs i would take off aswell, but thats so much more work, that i dont feel like doing.

Your input is appreciated, thanks!

theres a brace under the tranny to absorb hits from the ground. and besides that, you can see any damage done to the tranny by bottoming out if anything happened to get around the brace

Cant see how any of those mods would affect the tranny at all. The dealer might play the clearance issue, just take it to another one if so.

I've got pretty much everything you've got and didn't have a problem with it. the key is getting the car to replicate it for them. I suggest taking the service manager out for a ride, you drive and show him how the problem occurs. for them to deny warranty they need to be able to prove that your mods caused the problem and none of your mods could have caused a trans problem.

I don't see how a plenum could have anything to do with the trans. You should be fine with the V+
