Does anyone know if a 3.5 Altima motor is the same as a 03 g motor as I can get one cheap and send it for complete rebuild (sleves ect ) then just swap motors.

Wow, I was wondering also if it is just an ecu difference, manifold, or whatever, but that thread is exactly ZERO help, it is nothing but bickering and car buying info.

That thread is full of misinformation. All Gen II VQ35's (Murano, Altima, Maxima, G35, 350Z, Quest) excluding the rev-up motors are the same internally, down to the cams. The only difference with the RWD motors are external, i.e. mount locations, coolant passages, manifolds, etc.

Don't believe me? Look up the part numbers in the Nissan FAST program and cross-reference yourself.

To the OP, you won't be able to drop in the altima VQ35 since it's in a FWD layout.

 

Thanks for the info,I can also get an fx motor I know the lower section is differnt do to the axle going there the block but can I swap that part for mine at change time?

 

That motor should work with no problems.
