Default Help? Radiator Fans

So everybody knows Texas is hot. as I was parking the car in the garage, I heard a horrible noise coming from the engine bay. Sounds like the fans were hitting something. I thought my fans were hitting my samco hoses, but they weren't. I checked all around and nothing. The fans are not touching anything. The noise is only present when the fans start up and shut down. When fans are fully spinning, the noise goes away. does anyone have any ideas. Or does it seem like i need a new fan assembly? When car is running, there is no rise in temps.

Keep in mind that fan blades change pitch throughout RPM range---Whats not hitting when u spin by hand could be on fan motor start up

What Im saying is that a fan standing still is a different diameter and pitch than one that is spinning---centrifugal force/pitch of the blades. At a particular RPM it may change enough in diameter/pitch to have interference.

Unplug the wires. Determine which is Hot and which is Ground ---- Ground the ground and apply 12 volts to the Hot---See what happens. That will tell u if the fan is intermitently hitting something or u have a motor prob. If so --figure out WHY it happened and repair. If neither move on to a different possibility.

I believe if it is a fan or motor prob it has to be bought as an assy.

Generally if a fan is hitting something intermitenly it is at start up or shut down

Diagnostics are elimination starting from point A.. If to u ---It sounds like a fan hitting something,,, start there and possibly eliminate it.

If its actually hitting on right turns---Do the above as far as jumping the Fan and give everything a push or a pull or a shake.. ...... Shroud,Brackets,Motor assy,,,, anything having to do with fan assy. Try to artificially recreate a right turn and the stress it subjects the components to
