Too much to install 3.9 FD?

Ordered Central20 3.9 Final drive a few days ago, just called Technosquare to get an estimate for installation. Howard said approx. $500 - is this too much? Its much better than another quote I got from a different shop ($800 - hah). But still. Seems high. Don't know if its really worth $500 + $500 install to get shorter gears..
At $80 an hour, that's not even a full day's worth of labor. Pulling the pumpkin, rebulding it with the new ring gear and pinion while properly shimming it, then reinstalling the pumpkin can take a full day. Its a fair price if the work is done properly.
