You're gonna have to do internal/headwork to get there bro. Get some higher comp pistons, stroker kit, VERY AGRESSIVE cams, valve springs... all that type ****. Add on all the bolt-ons (exhaust, test pipes, headers, intake, spacer, pulleys, clutch/flywheel... hell throw in some ground wires while you're at it, HKS DLI, UTEC etc.) and I don't see why you can't get there. All you need is a DEEP wallet.

No way those NA numbers are possible with all the bolts on with stock internals. Your going to need serious $$$$$ for alot NA HPs. STROKER KITs arent cheap. Go F/I or dont bother.

I think he knows that F/I is the "easy" way... if he has "serious $$$$$" and wants to do it, more power to him.

Tony (EVERYONE knows that F/I is the easy way)

for all the money spent on getting a Z to 300whp N/A, might as well get her built and tt the son of a biatch. why spend the same amount for 300whp when you can get 500+?

+1

I am thinking you will spend $9k plus or minus (depending if you install mods at the same time or do it yourself) for full N/A mods and get 300whp. For less than that cost would be, you could take the vortech route and get 350+whp on stock block and be very safe, and have the option to add cams, headers, or pulley (up the boost) and get more power. This is the debate I went through...obviously you know where I stand. I do not want to start a debate that is just my opinion. Good luck.

And when you spend $8k for 300WHP NA, you'll wish you got this instead and had 400.

I have every bolt on possible and I have cams and head work on my Z. Im pushing 283 rwhp if I did the pistons I think I could of hit 300 rwhp in my auto. Also if I had a manual instead of my auto I might even have 290 something right now.

Sincerely Glen

to OP, you have a popcharger.. that's a devastating mod, right there, and you should be pretty close to your goal.

that just shows how nicely factory tuned the car is. As time goes by im really starting to think its very very hard/not worth the money to exract anymore na power easily even though the VQ35 motor is still considered going through its infancy stage in terms of R&D after market modification.

To the OP, you should probably have gotten a Z with a Rev-up motor. Bottom line, they are dynoing higher.
Whats the DBW? To the OP many Z's have past 300whp NA. Take a look at 350zlovers aka Richie. He has all bolt ons and internals and he can safely rev to 8k rpm. His car is making more power than a 355 F1. Also look at the Nismo RS, Amuse 350Z csl and the Esprit Z. All are making alot of hp NA.

DBW = Drive-By-Wire.

And everyone considers those who may have broken 300whp subjective because nobody believes dyno charts unless they are their own, which, isn't really that bad of an idea. Dynoing a vehicle has so many variables. I hit 260rwhp bone stock at MRC .

btw, what is a VQ35HR???

And yes, you really really need to get the internal built up for over 300+HP... been there and done that... it costed me more than APS TT + rebuild to taste the 8000rpm engine sound

cheers,

richie

That would be the new variant of the VQ that is going in the next-gen G35 coupe.

I shouldnt have said $$$ are easy----But its easier to raise $$$$ than it is to aquire knowledge. 5000.00 for JUST the FI system would go a long ways towards building a NA motor. Like I said --Been there, done that.
Bolt on HP is alright. But its got to the point --U seen one ,U seen one, U seen em all,
My next is NA, Super suspension,Drive train and detailing Mods

First of all.....

Do not go FI, you dont know enough about it, and you dont want to. Its not worth the money/blood/sweat/tears. Esp if the Z is your daily driver. Its not just "dump 8-10k into your car and your done" A lot fo FI guys end up blowing their motor, so you need to have an additional 5k for a buildup and downtime. Anyways,

300whp isnt really doable or worthwhile, BUT, you can get very close with relative ease. Go search for dynos that Crawford released, they have an incredible powerband over stock. If you want to have a relaible, pretty fast m3 killer, go with intake, headers, HFC's or test pipes, exhaust, plenum spacer, jwt cams, flywheel/clutch, lightweight wheels, and tuning. You will have a badass Z, and you dont have to do everything at once, and you will be right around 280-290whp.
