You may want to check your ABS (sensor harnesses and wires), as it appears that is the only thing holding up the back of your diff and axles.

There are two other bolts holding it up in front, as well as its still connected to the drive shaft...

those two bolts in the front however may be bent...

those part numbers are

55424-AG000

2 required

 

So i'm guessing it isn't covered under warranty???

The Service writer who takes care of you isnt going to really look under your hood for mods...

If you have exhaust mods / intake mods etc... they are not going to cause this problem... If they do get damaged from the failure of this bolt, they will not be covered...

So, this could get covered under warranty, but the exhaust will not be warrantied or replaced by nissan...

Ok well I orderd it from Performance to find out now that it is back ordered until Mid september . I asked the person I was talking to on the phone. if I could buy the OEM rear diff cover and he said Nissan doesnt sell just the rear cover and that I would have to buy the whole diff assembly. Is that true? there has to be a part number for the oem one.

 

Yes the OE cover is sold seperate...

In my experience when your dealing with insurance people and dealerships and other people of he sort, playing dumb when it comes to stuff like this is the best way to go. My .02.

 

I'm not sure why whoever would say that, but the whole differential is not needed. As Jason said, you could buy the cover by itself. Just go to our Factory Parts Website and just enter 38351-0C000 where to search for the part numbers. Gimme a call if you have any questions!
