Angry WTF Diff broke

Diff mount broke
Story below

Ok well today I finally got my hub ringsbecause of alot of vibration. Well I went to the beightbor hood next to mine to see if it fixed the problem and it did. so on the way back i floored it in 1st spun alittle then hit 2nd when I hit 2nd BOOOOM! I thought I blew my motor at first but it reved fine put it in all gear while on the clutch and it was fine, then engaged a gear and vibration like crazy. I pull over look under the car and see that the boot on the passenger side axil is off an i can see the greese so I decided ****it I limped back home off the gas in 1st gear goin 4mph. I get home look under the diff is hangin really low to the ground(didnt notice that when I pulled over) I look at it again and see that that single nut that is supose to hold it up is gone and the scre broke off inside the diff.

Does nissan sell that one bolt or buy the whol rear diff cover
and has this happen to anyone else?

Ill post pics later.

How did the nut located on the subframe member break off and fall into your diff? This is not possible...I am confused.

Based on your description, it sounds more like your axle broke.

If your referring to the Pivoting-Pin, I'm curious as to how in the heck it snapped or sheared off!? Considering the two front bolts handle most of the torquing and twisting of the diff..

You didn't do a Duke's of Hazard bridge-crossing did you, j/k. But wow, I just don't know how this could happen!

Yup,, thats what happens when you do standing burn outs... .it doesnt do it so much if your sideways at all...

Just get the NISMO Diff Cover and call it a day...

It has nothing to do with hubcentric rings etc... you could do it with the stock set up... doing burn outs on the Z you get wheel hop if you give constant throttle...

The above pictures are from my Z... on a drag strip that had that damn sticky crap sprayed on the track... messed me up thats for sure!

I have seen a few other Z's come in with this happen... They were all from standing burn outs...

It usually damages the exhaust as well... and it stinky like diff fluid for a while...

Yea thats sorta what happend to mine but its just the stud that broke the only thing is. is that mine broke when i had no traction it was wet out I was spining first gear and then said hmm let me just hit 1nd for the hell of it (yea bad idea) I have 295s in the rear but maybe I caught traction in 2nd and it just snaped.

Thanks
can I bring that in for warranty work?
or can they say my mods caused it?
and i think it would be easier and cheaper to replace the stud.
because I wouldnt have to take the diff off nor would i have to replace the fluiddo you know the part number for the nut and washer that goes on the end of it?

poor guy...

I would check the exhaust and sway bar too ..since it seems like that the diff broke off and rested on one of the exhaust piping and the pipe rested on the sway bar
