No chip will put you over 300 (at the wheels). Also, what "chip replacement"? Are you talking about an ECU re-flash? Are you talking about an complete ECU replacement?

I believe we are out of the age of chips.

Check www.forgedinternals.com

They have a lot of stuff.. and some simple web searching will yeild you more then you ever wanted to know.

(Not to hijack)

I would say... Well... I don't know what gives the most bang for the buck... hehehe I went stupid on mods from day 1.

Does the 3.9 final drive improve 1/4th times? If so what is the average gain?

Because, not many people view this as a legit way of gaining horsepower. Your engine isn't any stronger because of it.

Yes, it will make you go much faster for a short period of time, but it dangerous for your car and most people would rather rely on the actual engine and not some spray to go faster.

If someone tells me "Hey, I'm getting 320whp" and then I find out they are using nitrous, I'd give them no credit for it.

LOL...

The guy posted that almost 3 years ago (a few months after the Z was released)... there was barely a turbo kit out.
Any mod would have seemed obscure.

AAM plenum spacer. Instantly noticeable on the but dyno. 10 to 15 claimed HP at the wheels. I believe it. Good mod!
around $200

1. Supercharger or turbocharger kit
2. Test Pipes
3. Camshafts
4. Upper Intake Plenum or complete Intake Manifold or Plenum Spacer
5. Increase driving skill and wider rear tires.

An aftermarket ECU replacement will most likely never be available, and if it will, it will most likely be around 5-10 years from now. You're in luck! It won't cost $1,000...expect it to be around $5,000-$10,000, again, if it ever comes out.

You are better off getting an advanced piggyback system like the TurboXS UTEC or GReddy eManage Ultimate....or maybe even a standalone like the HKS FCON VPRO or MoTeC M600.

If I started over and was not going FI:
1.) 3.9 final drive
2.) Tilton lightened flywheel/clutch setup
3.) UR Crank Pulley
3.) Test pipes
4.) Plenum
-Other fun things
Exhaust - looks and sounds cool
Intake - It just sounds cool
Wheels - they just look cool

Nitrous is good for short distance.....try using it on the track ....you will find yourseld in last at the end because your little bottle ran out....this tread is about REAL horsepower (constant)

I say UR pulley was the best bang for the butt dyno, then plenum for slight butt and great sound.

the thread starter didn't say anything about a track, so u have no clue what this thread is about; actually, no one does. if he is interested in drag/street racin, nitrous will f'n blow away your pulley and plenum.

I have always said my sways and springs where the best (most noticeable) bang for the buck. I still think so.
