Angry Dont you just love it when people help you out!

So I came home Friday and I knew there was something that drained my battery. My cooworkers that were watching the car said they jumped it to move it. Well I checked when I got back and there was a wire that pulled back after I tucked away the safeguard. Thats my final straw with safe guard. Been too many tuning issues with it, and its up for sale.

Any way after being up for 50 hours I pulled the harness and removed the safeguard and reinstalled the autosport sans safe guard. Jumped her and cranked it her up. She was real shakey and sputtery.

I then smell ALOT of fuel. A **** LOAD!!! I get out and walk to the back. There is fuel pouring out of my left tail pipe. No not dripping, Im talking a steady trickel. My friend was up front and he heard slapping on the left side. I go up and listen and its a definate audible slapping. Yeah not good.

I shut her down and start asking questions. Turns out the car went a 2 1/2 months with out being started then when it was they jumped it. Well from what I gather they did what "any one else does" when they jump a car. They reved it up to 4000- 4500 ish for several minutes. They said they begain to smell fuel so they turned it off.

From what I've gathered it looks like I may have stuck exhaust valve. Im going in for a leak down Thursday. But I'll definately be calling up for a built motor, Monday. I've already got the whole valve train and cams for the build.

So my deal is: Do you think the same as me that the events outlined is what caused the issue if it is a stuck valve (insuficient lubercant + hard reving)?

I would honestly doubt that revving it caused the valve to stick, if it is stuck at all.

Take it step by step and start going through the obvious

From the few people that I talked to about this they are saying reving a motor dry like that can cause it to stick. Especial if the guy had the accelerator down a god bit trying to start it from a jump. I have stupid cooworkers they think that pumping the accelerator "helps".

The only other thing I can think of is an injector stuck open but I dont know how that would be trouble shot. The slapping sounds, whats up with that?

i just had a very similar thing happen on my vette. i hadn't started it in years, so i put it back together to hear her run again. well i had 2 injectors stick open. i did not know it at first. but they were bleeding off all my fuel pressure into the runners inbetween cranking it. all of a sudden, i heard the motor hydrolock from fuel ingestion. pulled the plugs and fuel poured out of the 2 cylinders. cranked it to clear it, and the motor sounded fine. cleaned the injectors and tried again. fired right up, but now i have a very noticeable knocking due to a crushed rod bearing (hoping). the stethoscope is telling me thats what it is though.
