Default leakdown test, how long should that take?

I was wondering if anybody knew how long this should take and whats involved.
Finally got some feedback from the dealer about my engine losing oil and they said they need it for a day to test it....I'm just wondering does it really need to be in there that long for them to run a leakdown test?

Thanks!

The test itself doesn't take that long, but most dealers want you to leave the car because there's no telling exactly when they can do it. Usually there are more jobs than techs.

A leak down test involves removing the spark plugs and hooking up a regulated air supply with a gauge to an adapter that screws into the threads in the head where the spark plug goes. The gauge shows how much pressure is being lost inside the cylinder.

As long as the spark plugs aren't hard to get to (I don't know, don't have a Z yet) it shouldn't take more than an hour to do. But, as was said above, there is more work than techs most of the time, so who knows when exactly they will get to it.
