$2,000 for now... what to spend it on?
I've got an 04' AT 350Z and wanting advice worth 2,000 bucks to give me some horsepower.... looking at intake, plenum spacer,.... and few other things.. no Nitrous. But i would like some input on hp gains with a low cost budget that will equip to an AT. Anything will be appreciated! thanks

Plenum spacer, possibly the Mrev2, and some form of short ram intake. Also theres very few exhausts out there that show significant gains throughout the rpm range. Most of them if not all of them alter the rpm range up or down favoring higher hp in the upper rpm range or low end torque. The two mods that gives a high hp/$ ratio would be test pipes and the MD's 5/16th spacer, but again alter the rpm/hp range. The spacer gives large area in the midrange but loses at redline, where as the test pipes will drop low end torque but gain it by redline.
Edit: No amount of n/a mods will show any real gains until a tune is done. I'm going to have to agree with all the previous posts, go f/i. Nitrous is always an option.

There are two things you must get first for NA:
Plenum Spacer and High Flow Cats/Test Pipes
After these two mods, I would then get a new y-pipe, popcharger, lightweight pulley, and some headers.
Lastly, you'll want to get an ECU reflash after you finish modding. The reflash will be around $500.
IMO, an exhaust is a major waste of money if your main intent is to gain power.

To the OP, you have a lot of options, but if your going to eventually go some sort of Forced Induction (I'd say within 6 months to a year) the general recommendation is to stay limited with the N/A mods. However, for $2k, you can do a good bit of N/A stuff. Popcharger, MREV2/Plenum Spacer, test pipes, and exhaust can probably be done for close to $2000 and should net you around 15-20whp, more when tuned. It will also sound better and give you more power throughout the powerband, bottom to top.
