yea. its about that time. for some reason i cant seem to get my car into 3rd with out eatin some gears up. if i take my time putting it in nice and easy then im okay. but if i want to get down and dirty then that ***** sounds like shes about to drop. the only prob i have is with 3rd and the car was like that when i got it. its to bad it didnt have a warrenty when i got it. im lookin for a after market trans. or if the is a rebuild racing kit for it. let me know guys.

I bet it is a 03 Z. That was the first year they made them and the synchros in 3rd were bad. I had to take mine back and Nissan replaced the whole trans with the updated one. If you don't have a warrenty yet, like the 5 year 60k warrenty that come with everyone, even if sold. then not sure what to tell you. I guess just buy another tranny. But, if yours is still under 60k miles take it in IMMEDIATELY to a dealer and tell them your problem.

 

i know this really doesn't help you, but i have a '03 Z and i bought it with 50k Miles on it. i brought it to the dealer because at 55k it is doing the same thing you described.. he called me that day and said they are ordering a new trans for it.

Maybe the service department could just replace the synchros. they probably just replace the trans because they don't feel like Messin with it. you'll prolly pay more in labor but maybe the cost would be less than a new tranny. i dunno. good luck man, hope it turns out ok for ya

 

i am getting my 2nd trans done next week...alot has to do with the design, brass syncros dont help much
