First off, let me say, that engine compartment looks beautiful!

Regarding the painted covers: When i sawyour post this AM, you hadn't posted the 'before'pic of the black covers. I thought the painted covers looked great. But now that I can see them both, I better understand the concern you posted above. Painted blue, they do pull your eyes away from the engine.

I say go back-to-black on the covers, and the compartment as a whole will look much more appealing.

But if you stay blue, it's still a vision to behold.

Nice work as always Michael.

Very, very nice!

As far as the battery and brake covers, I've looked at both pics and it really looks great either way. I would keep the blue pair and get another stock pair as well. Then just go with whatever mood you're in at the time.

Great work!

something old, something new, (nothing borrowed ) but definitely something rice....
I'm pretty anti-rice myself, but I can't say that I see anything rice here. I don't think there's anything wrong with making an engine look presentable. If there was, Nissan wouldn't have put the engine cover in there in the first place. Secondly, these mods are all under the hood. That almost nixes any rice comments by definition.

Nice engine bay Michael-

i think people on this forum have a misunderstanding when they throw out the word rice.

this engine bay is by far the cleanest i've seen... nothing wrong with a nice dress up here n there.

I'm thinking about painting my covers myself. I was wondering, since the covers have a little texture on them, did they have to be sanded smooth before they were painted? Also, did you use clearcoat on them as well?

One more thing, does anyone know where I can order an extra set of covers?

ya know..

it would be really sick if someone did Direct Port N20 into that polished upper intake plenum!!

that would compliment a turbo setup quite nicely...
