Looks absolutely great, man. I agree with what some others have said, and you yourself have stated: the painted covers do draw your eyes away from the engine. But I could see going with them some days, and going with black on others. Why get rid of 'em when you already paid for the job?
Great, great work...

this "mod" is used to re-route engine coolant in the 180-210 degree range away from your intake air.
my last 3 cars have all had this, and i have bypassed all of them without incident. all you do is basically remove the feed and return water lines from under the intake manifold cover behind the throttle body. i used a 1/4" 90 deg elbow from my watercooling parts for my PC. you could use anything appropriately sized.
the original reason for car makers to do this is to make the TB not freeze... so, dont do this if you live where it freezes (or atleast hook it back up in the autumn!!
)

Very nice, VERY VERY NICE. Thats show quality right there, far from RICE. I think everyone should say Rice-Boy instead of riced, because all Japanese cars are RICE. Its like do japanese people call our cars hamburgers? or hot dogs? lol nm, Anyway Ski, nice mods! Im going to copy you but in carbon fiber :P
VERY NICE WORK, the people who call that rice are known as "haters"

shouldnt this thread be in the Modifications-Appearance???
dont get me wrong, it looks okay. im not a big fan of painted valve cover caps/engine covers that match the color of the car, but its not that bad.
and the only modification i see that has to do with engine/drivetrain is the intake, if you want to call it that.

Skidaze: Would you mind going into more detail about this bypass mod? The pics look great. My friend with a Z06 did the same mod and said he noticed a major difference.
How long did it take? Is it a mod where you can tell the difference? If so, is it a difference you can feel like a CAI install or maybe like a grounding kit?
Thanks in advance. You are an asset to the Z33 world.

Skidazzle,
Well done. I admire your taste...the polished manifold looks truly sick against the DB paint. As for your bypass mod, I see how you used the 90 degree fitting to tie the two lines together away from the throttle body. My question is that after doing so, does this leave two holes in the throttle body where the lines used to go? If so, what did you use to plug them? Thanks in advance...great idea for us southern Z owners!
