Default 3rd gear grind - what tranny to put in?

I have the dreaded 3rd gear grind which I assume is synchros. I don't want to put in another 03 tranny. Do all 6MT trannys (04-06) retrofit the 03? What's your best advice to me and how I should attack this?

Just had mine done under warranty last week. They put in a "009" tranny. Apparently the guy told me that's the latest and greatest. All seems well. 009 is apparently what they are "supposed" to put in. He said the computer tells them that it superceedes the original tranny # from 2003. He said that some dealers will put in what ever version they can get ahold of quickly, which is wrong! Also be aware if this is under warranty, and it's your first tranny replacement, they are supposed to replace your clutch disk at no charge too! Hope this helps.

When you order a tranny from NISSAN no matter what number you order they send you the newest one... CD009...

You can order rebuild parts yes... but will probably cost more in labor...

In Hawaii, freight from here is what will hurt...

Drop me a PM... You wont be spending 2K on the trans...
