Default What upgrade should I do?

I have a 2003 Z. It has a K&N Typhoon intake and an Injen Exhaust System. I want some more power but I am not ready to pay for the turbo. What should I Get? Maybe some test pipes?

Have you looked into the plenum spacers? Do your test pipes, a spacer, a mint oreo blizzard from DQ, and call it a day. Simple as that.

Mint cookie dough is a strong runner up, but no first place. Really, anything mint is ok with me.

What model are we working with? I would mod in this order unless you already have it done. So here is about $10,000 worth of upgrades you could make and not break your wallet all at once. I would take a gradual approach to this and keep in mind your end goal (if you have one). If you don't, I would keep options open so you don't waste your money and ruin it for yourself down the road.

Prices are estimated and are for parts only, not labor.
  • Intake (You have)
  • Exhaust (You have)
  • Headers ($500)
  • Wider Wheels & Good Tires
  • Suspension (Springs - $200; Springs & Shocks - $600; Coils - $2000)
  • LSD ($1000) (If you have base model)
  • Plenum ($400)
  • Cams ($1500)
  • High Flow Cat or Test Pipes ($500)
  • ECU manager (UTEC/E-Manage, etc) ($1000)
  • Nitrous w/ computer regulated delivery ($1200)

This is my suggestion and only that. I'm sure some people might be able to define some terms better than I can.

Cheers

you have to watch cams with nitrous...with cams the timing is usually bumped around, this can be a bad thing with nitrous

pretty easy path from what you have now

1. plenum spacer
2. high flow cats or test pipes - with the Injen, test pipes will be loud - all depends what you can live with day to day.

3. UTEC

4. 3.9 final drive gears

5. clutch/flywheel

from there everything becomes very expensive, so it depends on your budget
