Default Rev-up engine vs. non Rev-up

What exactly is the "Rev-up engine?" How does it compare to a non rev-up engine. What model years have the Rev-up? Are they only on MT or both MT & AT? Does the rev-up have more oil consumption issues than the non rev-up? I have a 2006 Silverstone Enthusiast with 2k miles. I love the car even though it rattles when I drove over bumps.
