Default Dipstick Picture please

First off I did a search on this and nada. So all those that are about to contol + v in their comment about using the search engine to give their post count a bump can save it.

I know other folks are probably want to see the same thing. I also want to make sure mine is OK and this forum is about sharing info and helping others out so here we go....
Could someone please post a picture of what the proper amount of oil on the dipstick looks like? I need to see what a Z with the proper amount of oil on the dipstick looks like. I have an '06 with about 6k and it shows just a hair up top by the full and more down lower on the hash marks. Thanks in advance for the help.

There are 2 marks (H&L) on the dipstick. The oil level should be between the 2 marks.

Do you really need a picture to understand that? If you do, then look in your Owner's Manual. There is a picture of the dipstick, with this instruction:

"It should be between the H and L marks"

If you don't know how to read a dipstick, I suggest you buy a bicycle instead and sell the Z.

Why give advice you have clearly not used yourself? You have (or should have) a manual and it has a neat little diagram of oil level on the dipstick.

lmao at this thread, i saw it earlier and thought, "this will get bad."

to the OP, please just take your car to the dealer to get them to check it. you OBVIOUSLY are not the least bit mechanically inclined. and have no sense about cars and how things work. go hang out at starbucks and sipp on a latte while you have someone that knows what they are doing look at you car.
that is all

Everything you need to know about the Z is in the owners manual.. Its that crease free booklet you have in the "nissan" case behind the passenger seat..

Cheers,

I can understand why Jedicowboy could be asking for a picture...

1st the dipstick is fkn retarded to get out and put back in so you worry that you might have hit the dipstick as it's coming out or whatever. *I have a G, but I'm guessing it's exactly the same on the Z*

2nd My oil level was so low I was only getting streaks of oil that ran from the H mark to the tip, but I wasn't sure if I was full or just getting residue on the dipstick. A picture could have helped at the time. I ended up pouring in a quart to see what it would do to the oil level and it turns out that I was dangerously low. At the time I figured if I was reading the dipstick correctly and I poured too much oil in, I could just drain a little out. Luckily (or unlucky I was running low) I made the right choice, but again, if I would have seen a pic of what the dipstick looked like, with the oil on, it probably would have eased my mind a bit.

**I have to add, I have had several cars before this one, and changed my oil etc...you always worry especially when it's a newer car that you're not familiar with. Not all cars are exactly the same..my .02**
So Jedicowboy, why do you want a pic???

I don't have a picture, but if that helps, cool...

.
i can't say that you didn't, BUT, that usually happens if the oil has not settled.(i.e. right after driving it) anytime you check it, for an accurate reading let it settle first. not 5 min after driving or even 20 sometimes.

im not saying that you didnt wait. but the same thing will happen to me if i do not wait. if i let it sit for say, an hour, i have no problems being able to tell my level
