there are 3 final gears... Nismo at the highest and its over 1200. the 350evo for 850 and the cheapest is the central20. all came out at different times so prices r jus competing with one another. i have heard no difference in either set. nismo will always be expensive its jus name brand by what most say. im considering the central20 myself but im F/I so i havent decided. if u go this route please let us know how it went, especially me if ur F/I

3.9 goes well for N/A, and also works w/ superchargers, however the turbo make alot of power, and when u turbo+3.9 it, 1 and most of 2nd gear becomes useless.

Remember, turbos work best under load. The stock gearing will likely spool to max boost quicker than 3.9 gears.

I think my thread was hijacked

Two things, again anyone have any experience with these cheaper, ahem, less expensive gears????

I'm basing this on my own experience with my Buick Grand National and My Vortech Mustang.

Turbo cars need less gear. A MT car would probably do well to swap in a automatic gearset/pumpkin. A turbo car has the potential to make soo much boost at such a low rpm that a low gear would just blow the tires and not make as much boost.

As for superchargers, which kind. Positive displacement, ie Stillen, or Centrifugal, ie Vortech, Procharger, et. al.
Positive displacement, I would almost treat as a turbo car. A lot of boost down low will just blow off the tires. Fun but not fast....
Centrifugal, I would either keep the stock 6MT gears, swap in 6MT gears into an automatic, or 3.90's into a 6MT. Reason being, a centrifugal is RPM dependent on making boost. Get some gear to get out of the hole, let the blower do the rest in 2nd gear on....

Can we get back to my question now?? I don't mind spending the $1200 on Nismo if the other two are junk. But if the other two are of equal quality then screw Nismo....
