Default Z heater problems?

heres a question for ya.... my Z has a problem with the heater, it works, but only when the car is moving. when I stop driving the car the heat stops coming out, when I start rolling again then the heat starts up again?? what can be causing this? the fan stays on, it just starts blowing cool air when not rolling?

Somebody had the same question couple of days ago. Search and you should find your answer. Good luck.

means you are low on coolant and have an air bubble trapped in the system.

Default bubble

whats the easiest way to get the air bubble out? drain the system, do you have to pressurize the system? just wondering what I have to do.

You have to purge the system. Its easiest with a large spill funnel. Run the car with the radiator cap off, and the spill funnel attached. Fill spill funnel with coolant, about 1/3 the way up...and rev the engine at different RPM's. It take some time to get it all out...and make sure the heat is on full blast during this process.

bump i have the same problem. I tried Sharif's method...the air is Warm most ppl might not notice but its not HOT. When under load, I cant even keep my hand by the vent its soo Hot. I would expect it to be close at idle. However its not as hot...a few degree's cooler. I prob. need to compare to a stock G35 to see the difference...

what other method is there? taken to dealer 3x they even swapped the thermostat...

The air at the vent will be a little bit cooler at idle, which is normal. The service manual outlines the acceptable temps ranges. Sounds like your heater is working correctly.

Sharif, it has gotten worse..the air is 'hardly' warm. The dealer replaced my thermostat yesterday and is dumbfounded as to why the car still has the same problem. First they tried bleeding it a few times, the next time I took it in they tried bleeding it using the 'tailstand' method...still no good...

I guess they are tired of dealling w/ my car/issue. It's been like 5x I've gone there. When I feel the upper rad. hose its very hot. The problem started as far as i know when i swapped to samco hoses 2 years ago. The dealer then bled the system and it went away until the next winter when the coolant level dropped in the reservoir tank. Then the problem started again...as I think air got in the system...

Sharif I am almost willing to drive down pay you whatever for you to fix this
