Angry dynoed my car

hey whats up everyone. well last night i went to an opening of a new shop in sfl. it was a last minute thing. my friend had told me about as soon as i got out of work so i couldnt post it here on the forum for the sfl guys. well anyways getting back to my post.
so they start dynoing cars and the first car they did was a s2000 that was stock and it pulled 181whp. forgot the torque. then they were telling me to do my car, so i was like why not. i pull in my car and they strap it in and off with the first pull, it was 231whp, second pull was 234 and the third pull was 232. needless to say i was ok at that moment untill they pulled a g35 with just a cold air intake and he pulled the same thing. i was so fu**ing pist about my pullafter i saw his pull.
so that means that i ended up loseing power with my mods.
so my question is, do you think i ended up loseing power with my mods.
my mods are as followed pop charger, test pipes and an Apexi WS2 exhaust.

it was on a dynomite??? no clue if it was SAE correct but one of my friends who owns a shop says the dyno was off. i really hope so. but that would still mean that the g35 would pull as hard as mine with these mods

the crazy apart about it is that i feel the car much stronger. i installed each part with time apart from each mod and i felt a difference after each install.

also i still have my CEL light on since my test pipe install. you think this might be the problem

CELs effect how the car drives. Get some non foulers and get rid of the CEL.

As for feeling mods....I didn't feel any of my bolt on mods. Only thing I felt was the nitrous. Think you'd feel this torque curve????

I was reading somewhere that the Popchargers will cause people to lose hp as result of the ECU or something like that. I'll see if I can't find that article for you.

I could tell a difference going from stock to just test pipes and popcharger, but a lot of times it just sounds faster. It does rev more freely though. Also get the non-foulers b/c I would think the ecu would restrict power if it sensed something wrong. I know Hondas go into a "limp" mode when the CEL comes on w/ certain problems.

It all depends what year and model G35 it was, and what year and model your Z is. Basically, whether it was a rev-up compared to a rev-up or compared to a non-rev-up.

Dyno posts are more interesting with charts. Did you lose horsepower after the mods? Don’t know. We have no before charts.

that's not what it means at all...it simply means his car is making the same power as yours

Don't read too much into it. Unless you both started at the same dyno figures, on that dyno, your gains, relative to his, may actually be more

+1 ... Z's will get a fairly wide range of Dyno #'s when they're stock - when you mod your car, it's not about getting higher #'s than someone else, but increasing your power. (what was your A/F's ?)

-doubt your CEL would affect your power...a CEL due to TP's is for emissions and won't effect how the car runs - but is there so that you know your cats are not working.

don't see what's wrong here.. your numbers are pretty standard and same for the g. few factors can be a factor here. 06 cars are higher in dyno, AT's a slightly less torque than MT, intake= +5 whp.

Popcharger's wont cause a loss in HP, my car gained 10whp going to a PC over an AEM CAI. OP-check your A/F's might be time to tune your car for your mods...

I dyno'd on an SAE Dynojet and only put down 242 and some change. I was disappointed but we ended up scheduling for the record hottest day ever in NC in the fall/winter. It was 90 degrees in late November. We're going back in february. Go to a shop with a good reputation and try to get on 1 that's SAE correct. Also, with mods, make sure you disconnect the negative cable for a while. I never did. I did the other day to install ground wires. My car feels so much more awake now. I don't know why but it seemed to help.
