dynoed my car
guess what. i just a call from my friend saying that the dyno was reading wrong. i was like wtf. he said they adjusted it and said he would give me 3 free pulls. lets see what happens
what were the torque numbers between the two cars??
I'd say you need some A/F and timing tuning to get the full use out of the mods and also some non-fouler extenders for the O2 sensors in the test pipes
there's so many factors at work it's hard to say.
What intake did the G35 have? The injen SP1986 puts out a lot more power than any other intake. It could be your car and his car were operating at different temps - maybe his was cooler? Maybe he had slightly better gas and his ECU was more happy with it - what's the octane gas out there?
otherwise it could be that on your particular car the ECU was causing you to lose power for so many possible reasons. Might be it's detecting some slight knock and thus pulls timing and you lose power. It might be the test pipes are causing the O2 sensors to see bad emissions and the ECU is reducing fuel to try to compensate. It could be BOTH things happening together. Less fuel + less timing = a LOT less power
His engine might be broken in better than yours
could be the G35 has some lightweight skinny wheels/tires and you have big heavy wide ones? I don't know what each car have.
Or maybe he has stock small brake rotors and you have bigger brakes and rotors which are heavier.
I don't think the Apexi WS2 exhaust is particularly one of the strongest exhausts on the market. I don't know what they typically make or lose though

ha, to the OP, i didn't read your mod list, and thought you were bone stock.. good luck on the 2nd dyno.. you definitely should have more than 234. you need to consider torque as well. after the first dyno, i lost whp but gained torque. ecu adjusts constantly with your driving habbit.
I'll bet your ECU was in BS mode. It just does that sometimes.
I've found that given the same set of mods, these engines will dyno consistantly (from engine to engine) assuming the ECU is in performance mode. But a lot of times the ECU can just get lazy.
It depends on how you were driving shortly before getting on the dyno. Air temperature. Coolant temperature and so forth.
If you have test pipes, you really should have out dynod a similarly equiped G35 without test pipes. ...and I'm sure you can if your ECU isn't pulling any nonsense.

!!!tonight is suppose to be the grand opeinging. are going to head out there?
One thing i noticed about my dyno even though the dyno was off and we couldnt get a tach signal even with cams, lower compression headers and test pipes my revup engine the a/f stayed at 12.2 and went to 13.8 at redline. It was a gradual increase so i think the thats the reason the revup responds better to boltons is that the ecu is diffrent and will adjust for it.
