Default clutch won't dissengage

So tonight I was doing a little spirited driving and when I blasted 1st gear, the tires only spun and I instantly hit rev limit, so I shifted to second. The only problem was when I let the clutch out, it didn't come out... It was stuck to the floor and didn't dissengage. After a while it slowly dissengaged, but was chattery during 5 "slow" take off attempts in first gear.. After about 2 dozen times of taking off slowly in first gear, it came back to normal. Any Ideas of whats up? This is the 1st time I've launched the Z like that, but I've done it before with my old evo and STi so I no what I'm doing.. You think I should start looking into an aftermarket clutch or is this a freak accident that isn't common? Thanks for your time guys....

Pretty right now... If it's not one thing with this freakin car, it's another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your tire's weren't sppinning, the reason you instantly hit rev limiter is your clutch was frying. I did it once too. Revs soared, so I shifted and the clutch wouldn't act right for about 15 minutes. Always coming out either slow or jittery. Smelled like a wookie too.

Heh, not a safety feature. Your clutch fluid boiled. There are lots of reports of this, it can be remedied with high temp fluid.

edit to add: could be you need to bleed clutch line too, but whatever, bleed it all out and replace with higher temp fluid and you should be fine.

how the F@$k is the master cylinder a wearable item? It's not brake pads or a clutch that gets constant attention from friction... They're freakin douchebags man!!

its not the clutch bro..... lol like mikead_99 said the clutch fluid boiled..... and if im not mistaken the clutch line expanded, then caused the master cylinder not to have enough fluid preasure going to it..... i dont know if yall know but the clutch line is made out of some kind of rubber compound..... i had this problem before when i went drifting.... clutch kickin cause the fluid to boil... and this used to happen also when i used to go to the tracks..... ever since i installed steal braided clutch lines i never had that prob again.... and i also have a better clutch now... hahaha

Pretty much going along with what everyone is saying: sounds like you boiled your fluid, and thus your rubber hoses connecting your master and slave cylinder expanded from high pressure, causing you to loose final pressure to your clutch cylinder.

Make sure that if you replace your clutch fluid that you use NEW, unopened fluid. Clutch fluid easily holds moisture, so it's important to use unopened stuff.

Good luck.

+1, this problem seems common with 06's, makes me wonder about contamination at the factory. SS line is a good tip as well, just probably not necessary if your fluid is good. Even so it will improve consistency so you might as well for roughly $30 or less.

edit to add: I think SS is probably more important for brakes, but who knows, I could be wrong

It seems like the '06s are the new 03's, only the 03's problems were, with the exception of the trans problems, minor

03 problems:
1. Bad trans syncros
2. Window streaks
3. Tire feathering

06 problems:
1. Oil consumption
2. Clutch problems

Yup, I agree failsafe306. So far neither problem has bit me, and I'm not sweating the clutch as line and fluid are getting done in another week on mine. That consumption issue keeps me pulling the dipstick out though, not much that I know of to prevent it other than being lucky enough not to have it.
