My bet is that this HR engine turns out to be similar to the F series Honda engine where it's about maxed out from the factory.

Why do you think that?

Wow so there is actually about a 30whp & 20lb/ft difference. Were these all done on the same day?

If so thats pretty damn impressive....but I won't make a fuss until I see some other dynos from MT '07's. Thanks for sharing though

From what I can see, you certainly should. Certainly more noticeable than someone going from a rev-up engine, but both look to be noticeable. Of course, that also depends on what types of mods you have. Those dual intakes should be interesting when it comes to modding.

You'd have to compare back to back to even try to get an idea, but its pretty significant from what I gather.

The mods you speak of are no substitute for a completely reworked engine. People with full bolt-ons and UTEC have enough trouble coming anywhere near the 07 stock numbers. I'm very curious to see another dyno of a MT 07

+1 on the HR being maxed out from the factory. If the previous VQ's on the Z didnt respond well to bolt ons, there is probably less room for improvement. Then again they did redesign the whole thing, so who knows. Lets just hope it doesnt drink oil like the revup. But still, the numbers are pretty impressive. Sort of makes me feel hopeless that all the bolt ons in the world on a revup might not be enough compared to the HR.

Even if it is maxxed out, the VQ35DE needs a lot just to be equal. The DE won't really exceed it without FI. I'm pissed that I got an 06.

Ok this is the question that i have..
If the 07 come with dual intakes, tubular headers, and true dual exhaust...how much power could the aftermarket parts possibly add?

I would not worry about it. This is just how these things work. The people that buy the 07s will be saying the same thing when the 08s come out. If you always wait for the next year, then you will never be able to enjoy the car. At least with our 06s we can wait for the 3.8L. The car is a great car rergardless of the year. Either way, these cars need FI to really perform.

Oh, I'm not too worried about it. I like my hood better. Plus as said already, the new motor has 2 intakes, basically has headers and true duals. It's kinda modded from the factory. I don't think it's anything that the DE can't achieve. Actually, I know it's not anything that you can't get from the DE. I've seen really good NA numbers from some guys on here.

It is hard to argue that the HR is not an improvement. On the other hand, the added weight the 350Z seems to add over the years reduces the improved motors ability to increase true overall performance.

Nissan said 90% of the max torque is available from 2000 to 7000RPM therefore 229.5 lbft should be at 7000RPM from the dyno its 210 lbft...

Also the non rev up engine should have more torque than the Rev up engine all the way up to 5500RPM by as much as about 10lbft I think.

These graphs dont make sense to me.

I can't wait to see some timeslips from the 07 Z. I can't believe there are no magazines testing it yet.
