Thank you Tony, I have been checking everyday for a dyno. I knew someone would throw one up sooner or later. Looks to me as if the new HR is going to kick some ***.

That will be great to see for sure. I would bet on 5.3.

Were the dynos for all three cars done on the same day under the same conditions?

I think the 06 were not actually as heavy as everyone thought, There was a post a while ago comparing some 03-05 to some 06's on the same scale. They were heavier, but obly 50-100 pounds at the most depending on what year. Hopefully someone will get one of these on a scale with some 03-06's to compare.

Ive read it in Car and Driver or MT. The 08 Z is going to be a new design with a bigger engine with about 350hp.

The nissan dealer told me today there would be a 3.8 liter going in the Z. The 380z and it would come out around the GTR. Usually I never believe them, but everything else they said was solid, and they said it wasn't speculation.

Interesting. Hard to see how they would have a 3.5 3.7 and 3.8 unless it's just 3.8 na and 3.7 TT

Seems as if the G will get the 3.7 in 09

Lots 'round the corner.

It was a dyno of the G35 Sedan and it was very quiet. It seemed quieter than any other Z or G vehicle I've ever heard.

At 7000 RPM it hummed smoothly.

No.

But the dynos have been cross calibrated to eachother so the same vehicle will produce the same results on each dyno.

Not the same day and all that stuff but its still a good comparison.

That HP increase above 5000rpm is awesome. Lucky I save 6K plus over the cost of a new 07.

In their 2007 new car edition, C&D said the Z will have no changes for 2007.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that on so many levels. First, I don't think Nissan will allow a 380Z to debut alongside the U.S. introduction of the GT-R. They would cannibalize each other and confuse consumers. BMW still hasn't introduced its new M3 yet, they are letting the new 3-series to get a foothold in the market first. Plus Nissan already learned its lesson with the 300ZX getting too big and bad for demand, so they are going to stick with this HR engine around for at least as long as the DE engine was around.

You all know how dealers are with their own product knowledge. Not reliable. They probably heard somewhere about the 380RS and are confusing that with the next-gen Z.

Sort of makes me feel hopeless that all the bolt ons in the world on a revup might not be enough compared to the HR.
I agree and disagree. It is hard to squeeze power N/A from the DE, but it can be done. However, having the engine reworked 80%, we don't know what to expect yet. Lets wait and see.

A FI DE will destroy a stock HR. Thats not a fair comparison. If your unhappy you got an 06, trade it up for an 07.

I believe the weight of the Z is subject to speculation, especially curb weight. Figuring out curb weight is not an exact science that is the same across all manufacturers. My Z, with one Sparco Torino and one OEM passenger seat with airbags, no jack, tools, and spare, weighed in at 3223 with a 1/4 tank of gas at a drag strip last year. But my curb weight is supposed to be 3225.
