JWT Flywheel w/ Nismo clutch. it chatters while on idle, but not bad. my friends wonder what it is. they hear it, but it's not to a point where it would be annoying or sounds broken. i actually like it and am very used to it. while driving, i only hear it while taking off on first. i drive 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th around 4000rpm so there' no chatter.

So far it looks like only one person who actually has a Nismo clutch has responded. I have the full Nismo clutch/flywheel assy here waiting for install. I can't wait to see how it goes.

Iv been clutching for 30 yrs and Im just not sure I know what "chatter" is ?Reverberation----Yes, if I happen to shiftup or down at too low an RPM, but a quick Up or Down shift gets u back into the range again. But NOBODY installs anything on my cars cept me and Im real particular bout experience dictating my proceedures. Noise on mt JWT is almost nonexistent.

Any flywheel you add that is not dual mass with a damper in it (like OE) is going to chatter on the VQ...

JWT flywheel/Nismo Clutch:
At Idle - moderate chatter (like a delivery truck).
Under acceleration - loud chatter up to 2500RPM. I choose shift points that keep me above 2500 and I don't have a problem.

Side note: I asked JWT about the noise and they said that, under acceleration, the noise is coming from harmonics in the transmission and is normal for a single mass flywheel.

im not sure what youre talking about when you say chatter, but i make a little noise when shifting at low rpm or letting off the gas quickly at low rpm in 1st and 2nd. its not rediculously loud, but unwanted at times.

Alot of people here are confusing clutch chatter and gear lash noise. They are two completely different things. Clutch chatter occurs ONLY when the clutch is being slipped, period. Nothing else. Gear lash noise happens when the clutch is engaged and is what a dual-mass flywheel helps prevent. For a better explanation on gear lash :
