you caught me!! Yeah i'm really wanting to buy one. I cringe when i start her every morning when cold, cause i can hear that split second rattle that makes me feel like the engine is just chewing away at itself. So i may be over killing, but i guess it's worth it for piece of mind. But i can't seem to find anyone who has used one. The instructions are pretty straight forward. But i need to tap into my oil pressure sending unit, and i'm not sure where that is. And if it's imposible to get to i may suck it up and pay for someone to do it. But i hate to cause i really enjoy doing things myself.

In cold weather an oil heater will probably do more good than a pressure preoiler...............keeping oil and block and heads at 70-100F.
Study the lubricity of oil vs temperature.

if this problem ever caused engine failure, which I seriously doubt, it would be covered under warranty anyway. but if you install a pre-oiler or something, you could run into warranty trouble in the future

Canton makes all the parts you need (they make Accusump) and it is no big deal to put the parts together. And you can buy them all at:
HRPWORLD.COM
And Hair Racing has a tech phone line to help you order the right parts and how they should be put together.
You will need to install a remote oil filter to run one since a stock design unit (no mater what brand) has a pressure relief to bypass the filter. Any particles will disrupt the operation of the accusump so you need to make sure you are filtering all the oil. Plus, with a remote mounted filter, you will can buy one with better filter media, it will always be filtering, and you can mount it where it is easy to change the oil filter.

My 84 928 was built better than any car i have ever owned/drove. I drove the hell out of it for 5 years. Changed the oil every 12k miles, 2 gallon oil pan add a quart when it gets low. It only left me stranded one time when the upper radiator hose broke ( i think it was the original one ). After being spoiled by a 928 no other car compares to it. I bought mine with 25k miles on it for 9500$, i put 75k miles on it. Shifted it at 7500 rpms when racing, i had an auto so i could do about 120-125mph at the end of 2nd gear. Shift a Z at 7500 on stock valve train it will probably explode, it sure wouldnt last 5 years doing it.
BTW acusump is popular with the Porsche 928 racers.

yup, it was like a sports version of a mercedes. very tight car and handled very well for it's weight. they actually made the 928 till 1995, but only available in europe. ended with 330 hp, the 928 gt.
oh ya, as far as the pre-oiler, just run it off your oil pressure sensor with a T. or, just wait about 20 seconds to rev your motor upon initial start up, lol.
