High RPM shifting and the clutch
So I've had my 06 Enthusiast MT for about 2 weeks now, it has 8700 miles on it and is in pretty good shape. After a bunch of searching using different combinations of "clutch" and "RPM" and "shaking" I haven't been able to really find what I've been looking for...so here is my question:
When upshifting near or at redline I've been noticing that I can "feel" and hear the clutch a lot. It's somewhat difficult to describe, but it feels as if the clutch is going to shake itself out of the car when I depress the clutch pedal. During normal driving everything is fine.
Now...is this common with the Z? I know it is somewhat notorious for having a loud/kinda clunky clutch...but is there anything I should be concerned about?
With my past cars I haven't really noticed any huge difference between low rpm and high rpm shifting...they have traditionally been pretty smooth (S2000, Evo, S4, A4, 240SX, Integra, FC RX7, etc.)
TIA for any feedback.

Well I've owned a Eclipse and a Acura Integra, both of which were manual transmissions. None of them were as loud as the clutch on my 350Z..
I bought my 06 brand new and immediately noticed the noise from the clutch..
But after reading some of the threads on manual shifting I've come to accept it as being normal..The Z is a raw rider, not to be confused with a Buick..

yea, it's normal. you will never get an AS smooth shift from 6500rpms as you would at 2500rpms. mine does the same thing, just shift extra quick and you won't even notice the feel/noise.

Ok, so I finally installed the Weapon-R engine torque damper. Just put it on yesterday. Here's what I've noticed so far.
Under conservative city driving, shifting was fairly smooth prior to installation, so I didn't notice much difference there. However, it seems as if there is less play in the clutch. Kinda feels like it's engaging a little sooner, and is smooth when engaging, with less chatter.
Driving more aggressively, I have noticed that shifting is smoother, higher up in the RPM range. Shifting between 6K and the Red felt very smooth, and effortless, whereas before, felt and sounded kinda clunky, like something was in the way, which made shifting a little more of a chore.
I'll continue to update this thread, as I've only driven the car for 1 day so far...
