Default InGalls Engine Torque Damper "The Stiffy"

Long story short Dan from InGalls has helped me out and I now have the frist production Engine Torque Damper (ETD), aka The Stiffy, from InGalls Engineering.; http://www.ingallseng.com/. Honestly so far I haven't notice much of a difference. I haven't try launching the car also so I can't give a fair report. I will be attending at 2.2 mile track day on the 9th where I really want to test it out and give my reports back to Dan. Below are my pictures. I will post dyno vids once I receive them from Dan.

Robert,

I'll be surprised if you do notice any difference. The engine in our cars just doesn't move that much. I have less than a 1/8" of clearance between my strutbar and plenum, yet I don't have problems with rubbing. That tells me that there's not a whole lot of engine rocking back and forth. That's also why I wasn't surprised when Rob @ Ingalls told me they weren't proceeding with developing one for the Z.

Previous reviews of the Stillen and Weapon-R dampers pretty much said the same things - hard to notice any real difference.

From your pics, it certainly has a high bling factor, especially compared to the other units on the market.

Dave,

I was told the same last year when I was working with Rob and had the first R&D done on the car. However it just that, Research & Development. So we'll see.

When I put the Stillen damper on my G a couple years back, I did notice a difference. It's hard to describe exactly what it was, but it felt more planeted, with less play in the clutch and just overall slightly better. I had to take it out because it wouldn't fit with the JWT TT kit, but it looks like this will fit. I just have to get it put in...

Dave,

I guess I have to agree on the "More Planeted" comment on acceleration. As mentioned though I haven't really launched the car yet. I'm interested on how it does on the track and on your TT G. At the track I plan on running a couple laps installed and un-installed to give a fair review.

Monster. Too bad you have to lose your engine cover to have that thing.

The Tech: You can retain the engine cover. I removed it before installing the ETD.

I'd def be interested in one if you didn't have to modify the cover. Post some pics.

The Tech: I garuntee you don't have to modify or remove the engine cover. However I'm not going to remove my strut brace to take a picture to prove it.*

JonB: Dan did mention that it won't work with S/C kit due to bracing over-lapping one another. Sorry.
