Default New clutch, requires changing the flywheel ??

Hey guys,..

my friend got a 2005 350z. the clutch is about to expire cuz of the grinding, so he decided to buy a new clutch... he bought ACT Clutch, now don't go on about how good or bad this company is.... he took the car to the agency to get the clutch replaced, but they told him the following:..

1) the clutch won't fit the flywheel
2) the flywheel has to be changed/ replaced

they said this without even checking the clutch or the flywheel..

so, what do you advice?? 2ndly, i think the clutch he bought should fit with the stock flywheel, where could be the problem??

i'm not a mechanic, but i told him that if he bought the clutch for the 350z, then there shouldn't be any problem using it with the stock flywheel..

your advice plz..

The only two aftermarket clutches that I knew worked with the stock FW were JWT and Nismo but I'm not 100% positive if these were in fact the only two.

I think the mechanic is right though.

There should be no issue with using an aftermarket clutch with the stock flywheel.
