Can it be done? The VK56DE is the V8 engine that comes w/ the Infinity QX56. -Not that I want to do this swap, just extremely curious.
Anything can be done with money.
You won't get any knowlegable responses here unless C.Forsberg chimes in who has done the swap. He probably knows everything from A-Z on the swap.

Doing this in the Z wlll require quite a bit of work in order to have the engine sit far enough back in the engine bay in order to get a decent weight distribution but it is definitly possible. The costs of such a project can range from a very manageable price (if you have the capabilities, resources and knowledge to do the swap yourself) to in excess of $20k if you have to have someone else work out the bugs.

That or just put better internals into a 4 liter block.
An LS1 would be nice too it may not be practical. It will be very interesting to see what happens with the LSX.

I looked into this awhile back I say definately, however wiring on any of these swaps is gonna be teh suck.... and then you'll need to spring for a standalone with all their little add-ons, and still won't have much more hp unless you add on money for internals and bolt-ons, blower, turbo, etc. In the end you'd have an easier, cheaper time with the vq35.
...now if we had a rotary in there, get the LS or VK swap!!!!
