Default headers and pully or just pully

hi every one i have an 03 g35 with the vortec sc and exhaust
puting 335 whp in 2 weeks im puting the stage 2 pully on 9lbs bost
up from 6lbs
i was wondering if i should do dc sports headers at the same time witch i do own, im looking for 360-380 whp.
but are the headers worth the money of instal or can i get this gane from just the pully and a dyno tune?

headersdont really do anything on n/a or even single turbo. but i hear they do show gains (very minimal) on a sc setup. go w/ a pully and a tune because theyll charge at least $400 (+ headers) to install headers. w/ $400 worth of tune can do alot more.

I have read on here that the gains with Headers on SC applications are pretty good...you already own them you might as well put them on!
Just get them on there!
Good luck!

Since you already own the headers I say go ahead and do them with the pulley at the same time.. Otherwise I would say skip the headers as they are a waste IMO..

Headers on a Vortech will give you good horsepower gains. As I had 320 whp on my Vortech setup without headers. And when I installed Crawford headers and the 3.12 pulley. My horsepower jumped from 320 whp to 380 whp. All I need now is a y-pipe to get to 400 whp hopefully.

I would say you would gain somewhere between 20-30 horsepower with the pulley upgrade only. As this is what my tuner told me when I was deciding on what to do just like you are now.

I was contemplating on upgrading to high flow cats. But, have read so many threads on how they make you loss power with certain setups. And some cats are so pricey.

get a spacer it will give you really good gains

also ur stock injectors will be maxed so u need 440cc... upgrading the vortech kit is not simple, it has a domino effect. a tune will give you the most gains.

also you will need a ECU flash if you have not already

I would suggest asking a good shop or tuner about the headers and running or NOT running high flow or stock cats or NO cats at all . If you want good advice . I see some of the advice given here is leading you in the wrong direction . Any time you free up the breathing or the exhauast of a motor . Your motor will work easier and make more power . You will need to tune it for the new mods to take advantage of them though .

I'm in the camp that HFC's and headers help the vortech

i'd get the headers HPC or jethot coated first before installing them

the DC sport headers are decent, but not going to provide a gain as big as the crawfords IMO
