Default how to remove valve covers?

anyone blood knuckle enough to help me out here?

or is there a service manual i can check out for reference?

i must remove the driver side valve cover to check for broken valvetrain parts. recently, i started to get this nasty 'tap', 'tick' coming from the driverside engine bay. i am trying to source the problem but with a car can only go 1 at a time... checked the TB, no faults. now it's time to check the head.

if all fails... probably a spun rod bearing (which i hope to God it isn't!).

thanks in advanced.
