Wow! First, your writing skills aren't so great. However, Yes only get the crank pulley. The kit is not worth the investment (IMO).

If you want to cut down on your rotating mass, save your money for a lightened flywheel. Much better investment.

and alot more expensive to install

the pulley is an easy install and is absolutely noticeable. Combined with a lightweight flywheel and it's a different car altogether

the UR pulley is, for the cost, absolutely worthwhile

Anyone had any long term issues with it? I know in the past other cars have had issues with the crank pulleys but I haven't seen many issues with the Z crank pulleys.

Just curious I notice you had a TT kit on your car, do you have the whole kit or just the crank pulley? Was it a little difference or major?

I don't think there is a downfall to having the whole kit, other than the other two pulleys aren't neccessary. I know they are hard to see, but I got the whole kit just for looks. But the only pulley you need for performance gains is the crank pulley.

Just make sure you get it installed correctly. If you screw it up you will have some problems.

Problem with the crank pully is that it doen't dampen harmonic vibrations because it is solid metal. A top engine builder here in Orange Co. told me he would never recommend using one.

He's dumb...show him the stock pulley and ask him if it dampens harmonic vibrations, because guess what....it's solid metal.

I wouldnt use one on a 57 Chevy (unless I built a motor and balanced it all together), but a Z pulley is not like this....it does not dampen

I stand corrected on the Z motor. Have tried to see if the pully was solid on the VQ and it looked solid but couldn't tell for sure. The situation I was talking to my engine builder about was for my Mazda, and Honda motors that do have a rubber dampening ring. It is interesting that Relentless does use a dampened pully on the Double Down Z.

dampened pullies, like a fluid dampr type unit, are also a great solution for very high HP, high rpm sustained use.

At the end of the day, its really up to the person assembling the motor as to which route they want to go. Many machinists will want to use the stock unit, many will choose a lightened and or underdriven aftermarket pulley, and many will choose the fluid dampr unit. There is honestly no "right" or "wrong" way, just different. At the end of the day, it all depends how well the internal parts of the engine themselves are balanced, as well as the level of balance that the pieces bolted to the crank receive. The tighter the tolerances of that balancing, the smoother and more efficiently the motor will operate. Again, its not so much the hard parts, but the quality of the workmanship that went into to making them all work well together.

I've had mine for more than a yr and about 14K miles...love it, it's not too hard to install. I actually got the whole kit..wanted things to match - the Alt pulley was the hardest to install for me. I've also got UR's flywheel and their new clutch - I love the whole combination...great/real power gains.

I just got the UR kit, I'm not sure if it's placebo but feels easier to get going from a dead stop and less chattering on the clutch also. I'm curious if anyone has aftermarket amps using the UR kit?

I have the same one on my car (underdriven) with a very power hungry amp (McIntosh) and zero issues
