To install or to have someone else install
that is the question. I just purchased a nismo lsd for my 04 base model. should i bring it somewhere to have it installed or should i attepmt to do this myself. a buddy of mine kind of knows what he is doing, but i dont want to screw anything up. if i attempt to do it by my self what should i need in terms of tools and other parts that i may need to purchase. i bought the kit new so it should come with all the appropriate parts, but is there anything extra that i may need. also i have read that the motul diff oil works best with this particualr diff, and i know that i should use that at first to break it in. what diff oil should i use on break in and i dont think i should use the oil that comes with it to break it in. thanks in advance for any help ryan.

I have this same question. I just watced by buddy swap about a TRD diff on his Supra (winter project) and I have to say it was not easy at all.
For anyone who HAS done this themselves, would you have rather spent the extra money to have a dealership/shop do it for you?

If it's just the pumpkin and your buddy is cofident enough on doing it, then by all means do it. Grab yourself a copy of he BGB (the big green book) and be sure to torque everything down properly.
If the item you've bought has it's teeth (gears), then leave that up to the pros.

If you don't have the tools/ability it would be in your best interest to have a pro do it. Last thing you want is to set up the pumpkin wrong and have a noisy final drive with premature wear/failure.
BTW, why didn't you go with the Quafe ATB? Much better than having to deal with clutch packs
