This kinda thing always cracks me up. Did you ever see that Mel Brooks movie he made about robin hood? There's a scene in it where Mel Brooks is selling circumcisions and no one knows what it is, but they all decide to get it because the good friar has one. So there're guys standing in line waiting, and one yells out "I'll take two!" Then there's a sign outside the tent everyone is waiting in front of that says "right now, they're half off!!" Funny as hell.

Anyways.. $8/qt is pretty expensive. Maybe you guys that are signing up to buy this should just wait and see what the UOA's look like. I'm glad that USN HM 350Z is cool about being the guinea pig with this stuff and willing to do this, and I'm sure it will be great oil, but the whole point of doing a UOA is to see just what you're getting for your money with different brands and weights. Fpr example, we now know from several UOA's done that the Amsoil users would be better off ordering the TSO 0W-30 over the ASL 5W-30 from their dealer as it costs the same, but one has performed better than the other. But we also know that if you change your engine oil every 3k miles and don't track your car or run FI (most Z owners), that Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 protects just as well and can be found for as little as $.99/qt with coupons.

USN HM 350Z is FI and I gather he tracks his car a lot. With what he has invested, it is more than worth it to spend a little extra on some oil if he gets extra protection from it. His UOA's will help us all see how much extra protection, if any, he gets from it for the extreme stress and heat involved with a FI Z. Thus, those who are in a similiar situation can see if it's a good alternative to what else is available. But, for most of the Z owner base, this might be overkill, so it is prudent to wait and see the results.

its not like im jumping on the band wagon blindly, i have read about this motor oil before but didn't know where to get it and i've been wanting to give it a try.$8 dollars a qt is not going to kill me to try it once.

No it's not going to kill you, and it's not even close to what some guys blow on engine oil. But if you do this, maybe you'd send a sample to Blackstone or Dyson to get a UOA done and post in the sticky? The more samples we get tested the better over all picture we'll have on how this stuff stacks up. It should be great, and it would be to everyone's benefit to see the results against Amsoil and M1 0W-40 in a non-FI Z.

Funny nobody gives a rats *** about it in Japan becouse there are better oils for the same or less. But you also have to know that in Japan there are only a few suppliers for oils and you can usually find the same damn thing in a few different bottles

Right now I use Amsoil/nissan filter. I'm open for a better filter if there is one. I'll be watching this thread for your results to see if I need to change oils. The car is rarely driven hard, I'm just very **** about the best lubicants for my car.

For the money, it's not that big of a deal to use the highest quality. We're only talking a few more bucks at oil change time.

This stuff is great. We put it in our drift car and it significantly reduced the amount of oil burned. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other stuff out there, but seems to be worth the money.

The best oil filter I have seen is Amsoil's new filter. It's been used for years over seas in commercial desiel trucks, sold under the Fleetwood brand among others, and Amsoil has been the first US distributor to buy and use them. Now, this is for extended drain cycles without a filter change. Otherwise, just stick to the Nissan filter and chnage it out every 3k miles.
Amsoil (TSO 0W-30 looks the best so far) has shown great protection and minimal shear with normal acid build up over the course of a 9k mile OCI. I don't know if anyone will keep the Eneos running for that long, but the stock properties are pretty good:

I wish I could find the HTHS and NOACK numbers, but manufacturers aren't obligated to release those. Amsoil and Schaeffer's are the only companies that actually share the NOACK numbers.
If you do run extended drain intervals, then a higher quality oil is more than worth the premium.
