Default Cobb parts for 07 350z

Well, after having been in contact with Cobb for about a week, I dropped my 2007 350z off at their shop last night. I am leaving for Hawaii friday morning, and they want to develop some parts for the 07's and check their 03-06 parts on the 07, so they have my z for the next week and a half. They should be throwing my car on the dyno and I will post any update in here as soon as I get it. However, keep in mind I will be in Hawaii and the forums wont be my top priority, although I will have internet access.

Parts they will be testing and measuring for are:
- Cat-Back exhaust (Test fitting that today or tomorrow)
- High Flow cat-pipe (Looks like they changed the Header flange on us, so it doesn't work)
- Intake (taking measurements to design new for 07)
- The ECU guys will be pulling info off of my ECU to develop the AccessPort for the 07
- They will be measuring the shifter to see if it is the same as 03-06 for their short throw, although no prototype yet for testfit
- They will also test fit sway bars and measure the rear camber arm to make sure it is the same

free install of all the parts and the parts at cost/large discount. I am mainly doing it because Cobb is a great company that has been doing great things, so if I have a chance to be a part and help, I will. Especially since I do not need the car during that time

You are a giving person. I would have to be there every day checking on what they are doing.

I would assume they would install and give the parts for free for the testing, not at a discount. But good for you and thanks for helping on research on those who have the '07 and itching for parts!

Well on my way to the airport yesterday I stopped at Cobb to grab something out of my car. They told me they had weighed my car (3230 lbs, over 100 lbs LIGHTER than claimed in Nissans website, and I have a sub in my car), and the car was on the lift waiting for some parts to be testfitted. The intakes were already in progress and they had only had my car ONE day at this point. I got an email showing my dyno numbers compared their 03-06 stock dyno numbers. I made 266.9 rwhp and 224.2 rwtq.

It's a Mustang AWD dyno with the latest software.

sure, what he said. I am not sure what kind of dyno, but I do know it is AWD because Cobb specializes in Subies

I know they are looking at your car good luck with them. Don't you think it's funny they want to look at a 07 when they haven't even finished with the 03-06 ecu's yet?

Maybe they gave up on the '06 ecu's and want to start from scratch with the new toy... Keep us posed on the progress - I can't wait for new parts for the '07. I already an exhaust on, now I need an intake.

All the Z parts are currently in prototype stage. Most of which are on my car right now. And no, we did not give up on the '06 ECU, it is all done. We are just waiting for production hardware, but we are currently able to tune the '03-'06 Z's. But for cars other than what we use for pre-production, you will have to wait until our hardware gets finished.

Sweet--any idea on the substrate material for the HFC's in prototype phase, or did you say that the Cobb gave up on the HFC's?

It's a metallic substrate. The ceramic does not have the longevity. Ceramic is cheaper, but not as good. And no, we did not give up on them. We have already done dyno testing and they are production ready. Now we just wait for production to finish. We do not have prototypes for the '07 yet though since it has a different flange and possibly a different length (haven't tested that yet, waiting for a lift to clear).
