Default A/C compressor not working

Hey guys, been having some trouble with my A/C lately. At first I thought I might have a leak in my system from my vortech, but I was unable to find any. Just found out today that my A/C compressor isn't turning on when I turn on my A/C. The pulley around the compressor spins, but the compressor itself isn't on. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I've looked around for fuses, but so far all I can find is one fuse that says A/C in the fusebox behind the battery and that fuse looked fine. Any help would be appreciated.

If your Comp does not activate and ur fuse is good, then first thing to do is chk freon pressure. Also, The pressure switch on ur accumulator can be jumped to activate the comp in order to get a true Pressure reading.

So if there's not enough pressure in my system, the compressor won't turn on?

If there is not enough pressure in the system it will not turn on. I had the same problem just a few weeks ago. I dont drive my car very much and the air was not blowing cold. Brought the car in and now it is working fine and blowing cold air...

Do you know what ended up being the problem? If its minor, I'd rather not bring it into the dealer with all my mods.

Problem was the system was low on freon. That is why it wasnt turning on the a/c compressor from what I understand. I paid around 20 bucks to get it fixed..

ok, brought my car into a shop today and they found a leak in my system. Apparently the SS feed line into the vortech next to the AC line filed a hole. I have heard about how much replacing the lines in the system cost and it doesn't sound good. I was wondering if anyone tried a repair kit such as this http://www.muggyweld.com/5clip1.html I figured might as well give it a try since I don't have much to lose.

I repair them by brazing them with Brass or use a compression fitting

Look for a little independent guy---They will do the SAME thing---It takes 2 cans of freon 134 at 20.00 tops at WalMart and n hour vacuum, then charge. The vacuum and charge take no real labor----I turn on the vacuum and walk away, same with the charge, I just glance at the gages every so often and shake the cans a little while in doing other things
