wondering if any users of the braille battery have any issues?
specifically my questions are
1. how long does the battery hold a charge when the vehicle is stored? - ie. ECU/alarm drainage?
2. how long does it last with OEM accessory usage? stereo, lights for example with the car turned off. I realize that is not the intended usage of the battery, and I don't often do that, but if you leave your lights on do you have 5minutes?
3. anybody use the slightly larger 15lb battery?
or anything else you've had issue with.
Thanks and appreciated.

Im thinking about running one, the only drawback I have heard of is that they wont last as long with the car off(how many people really do this though) and that if you do end up draining them for some reason they wont recharge.
Someone correct me if im wrong, this just a couple of things i have heard so far.

thanks for the reply meatbag
that particularly is my concern. I can be away for a week at a time and the car will sit. I wouldn't want to return to find my car unable to start, that is why I am considering the slightly heavier 15 or 21lb battery.
Or I'll just go out an buy a redtop. However, I was dissappointed with my last optima as it only lasted 3 years.

i had one for less then a year and it died on me, my car is my daily driver so it got used very quickly. I think i had it for about 8 months or so and it just died. I tried recharging it at a local discount auto parts store but they told me it would only charge a bit and it wasnt worth putting it back in again. I think those batteries are only good for track use and thats it. IMO it wasnt worth the 170 buck or so i spent on it.
Wont hold a charge (enough to start car) for more than 1 week. With no trickle charger on my 11.5lb. I put a stock one back in, I tried recharging but it wouldnt hold a charge-waste of $$$ f or me. I also had another one sent that also wouldnt hold a charge after it died.

well when im driving i dont listen to radio (cant hear the engine revs, makes me tend to kill it or chunk shifts) and i dont blast the air conditioner. dont use much of the accesories really. but my car is a daily driver, 10 pounder still not worth the money?
i have the odyssey pc680. ...i thinks its great....i have had it for about 4 months and it died only once after not driving the car for about 2 weeks....stereo wise i only have a 7inch dvd/cd player in the dash...the rest is stock non-bose and works fine...havent had the radio on for more then like 5 minutes before i've started it up waiting for someone...gf of course..so i am not sure how long it would last just listenin to the stereo for a while but who does that...good luck in ur decision...
IMHO, the 11.5lb is underpowered and doesnt hold a charge if you dont drive the car every day. I have one, and it works great, but I drive mine every single day.
A better choice is the 15lb version, which can easily go a week without a run of the engine. Beyond that, all of these small batteries should be hooked up to a trickle charger.

Remember all lightweight batteries are really designed for racing, and dropping as much weigh as possible. They are not designed for the occassional driver, that likes to leave dome lights on, trunks open, and doors open, or listening to the radio with the engine off. Those things will kill the LW batteries FAST. But yes, definatley suggest the 15lb or up.
