Clutch Going? Disengages far from the floor??
Ive had my Z for about 3 weeks now.
It has 45000 Miles on it. Im not sure if the clutch was ever replaced in it at all, it kinds worries me thinking that a new clutch is in my near future.
Some people told me to put it in a high gear at a low speed and floor it and see if it slips, well it doesnt I tried it like 10 times and no fall out of gear.
Also, the point where the clutch disengages is pretty far out from the floor, its almost at where its fully out, well not fully out but 3/4 of the way from the floor. does that mean its wore?
All answers greatly appreciated.
THanks!

Lately the pedal has been stiff (similar to sub zero temperatures), a bit slow to release, and it seems to disengage slower or is inconsistent. I notice I'm having to shift real slow. Not only that, sometimes I have trouble getting in gear as if I'm shifting without stepping on the clutch.
[EDIT] The thread about changing the clutch engagement point made a night and day difference. I've owned this car since Oct. 2002 and I couldn't quite figure out why I grind more and more despite having this new transmission. It can't be the transmission (aside from the clunkiness), so for a while I figured it was the clutch since it seems to engage late and I couldn't shift as fast as I used to. After lowering the engagement point, I was able to enjoy the Z again :-)
