That car's not going to blow up if you switch to a 10W-40. It's RP for christ sake.

I don't think pepboys carry's it. I always had it get it from a custom shop. And BTW.. That oil runs 11 dollars a quart. Ran it in my C5 for 20K miles and i abused that car on a daily basis and had ZERO problems.

yeah i bought a case of the SAE and it ran about 6.99 a quart. the case was $88. do you think its worth it. if so i will get i dont mind spending 11 a quart if its worth it, or do you think its overkill as i am not FI and dont really drive too hard

I just changed mine with the 5w-30 RP and am having really high oil PSI after start up in the higher rpms (3500 and up). Is this bad or should I not be too worried about.

Dont mean to hijack your thread just curious since its along the same lines

If you dont abuse your car on a daily basis then standard RP is fine. I'm not saying that regular RP sucks either. It's a group 4 synthetic so it's one of the best available. Guys who run XPR just like to waste money anyway.

People run XPR in race engines. You'll be fine with the stuff that you bought. Not sure what most board guys run.

Just incase anyone is wondering. Mobil 1 is a group 3 synthetic.
