Default Dyno'd My Car...

Well, A buddy of mine has an SRT-4...and his car club in town here had rented out a dyno for the day. He called me up...and said that they would probably have an opening if I wanted to toss mine on. So, needless to say, i scooted on over there....you can't beat $30 for 3 pulls!!

I don't have any performance mods for my car...so it was truly a baseline pull. The only thing I have the maybe could have hurt my car...was the Volk GTS 19x10.5s I'm running. Anyways...here are the runs...

235HP and 229lb-ft were my best numbers....kinda embarrassing when the SRT before me put down 498/481...

EDIT: New Pic & Vid:

+1... typical stock-looking numbers

check threads started by me to see some dynos with various mods and tuning, if you're into that kind of stuff.

nothing wrong with keeping it stock though

Definitely into it!!! I just finished up all my body kit stuff and wheels early this summer. Now i'm looking heavily into going FI...just haven't determined which route i'm going to take. Figured that it would be nice to get a baseline of what my car could do stock. I've heard of some semi-wild variations on our motors, baseline...so I wanted to see where mine fell in the whole spectrum.

I'm tempted to go STS for now...cuz that would be a pretty easy install for me to do in my garage...and stay mild for now...until my motor blows and then I can go for a more extreme TT kit if i want...we'll see.

Never plan for blowing up your motor, that's dangerous!

you never know when it will blow, you don't want to get rear ended on the highway due to sudden power loss

Everyone who went F/I and blew their motors will tell you to do it right the first time

If you have the money and the means to go F/I, definitely do it, but don't worry about N/A mods because you won't net more than about 25-30whp unless you put MANY $1000's into your N/A build

This can happen because the air/fuel curve will change when you modify the car.

Tuning will unleash more power (and recover lost power) as test pipes are definitely an effective mod.

I have seen on some 06's that adding test pipes makes the car run really rich

Seems like it could cause an accident easily if it happens on the highway...

all of the sudden you lose power steering, car suddenly slows down without brake lights, someone could rear end you easily

nice looking Z. those are consistent #'s for stock Z's. (give or take a few hp) Dont listen to those who argue, they probably haven't ever been on the dyno.
