Default any automatic transmission (upgrades yet)

I'm wondering if anyone has any new info on any shops that are doing research and development on the auto z's transmission so that it can hold more power for the FI crowd? I know everyone's attention is on the manual z which is great and all especially for tracking the car but is there anything going on with the auto's? I'm not much of a track guy i just occasionally bring my car to the drag strip and have some fun. I want to go FI but i don't want to be hindered by my transmission plus i think a high hp auto z would be fast as hell. I'm hoping someone would have some information on this and i don't think there should be any excuse why auto's shouldn't be able to hold high hp levels if built correctly plus the auto trans is pretty stout.

+1 Been curious about this myself, but never asked the question. Seeing as how the auto people on this board get treated worse than the "ginger kids" on South Park

I think the torque capacity upgrade is great and a must for FI. A buddy of mine also told me about a level 10 trans upgrade ($$$) that could make the shifts very fast and efficient, making the car noticably faster even in stock form; for fun I heard about a paddle shifter that was created for the auto z - think there was a vendor here.
-good luck w. FI

Your right about the auto guys being mistreated lol it's okay i guess i can take the heat for a little bit. Ghost 350z do you have any clue on what components they are working on. A auto z isn't good for a track but a mean auto at a drag strip can do some damage. KH O8 YEAH I SAW THE PADDLE SHIFTERS THAT IS PRETTY SWEET I MIGHT DO THAT AND THANKS FOR THE OTHER INFO.

Lots of people on here dislike the Level 10 stuff.

A VB upgrade and tranny cooler is a good start.

this is for their MT transmission conversion which is now done, not for an 5AT upgrade. The only thing I know out there for us is the transmission cooler and the valve body upgrade.

Is SGP still doing the VB upgrades? Ron sent a spare tranny to SGP I think for a fully built rebuild.

Very nice. . . . I would love to see how this works out and then get a hold of it for when I go FI.

And to ask the question again. . . . how much HP can our auto tranny's hold right now before getting weird ?? . . . . . .stock auto tranny.
