Well I've tried to read a few pages through the oil consumption thread, but have been unlucky on noticing any stating their oil light came on. The one guy mentions he was running 3 quarts low, but doesn't see he got a low oil light.

I guess by the time the light comes on, your engine is running really dry.

I was JUST about to post a thread about the same exact thing until I saw yours! Mine has been doing the same for the past few weeks, and started rather suddenly. I'll get a clicking/quick rattle when the car is warming up, but goes away after a few minutes.

At first I thought it was my springs creaking after I changed my suspension, but now I think my exhaust bolts may need some torquing down

I have a similar problem, but it's only noticeable in first and second gear. When I start from a dead stop I'll hear a few clicking sounds coming from the front of the car and not the rear as previously mentioned. When I shift into second I will hear the clicking noise again. I know someone will reply that I'm not shifting properly, so here's the really strange thing - if I stay in first or second and rev out the gear a bit the clicking happens again when I let off. This leads me to believe some part of the transmission is being torqued and makes the sound.

Any ideas here?

Could be. I'm already scheduled to have an oil change this Monday. Will let the group know the outcome then.
