Default My car is home, after the dealer and Nissan worked to correct the clutch pedal issue.

The Z was in the shop the whole week, and they didn't really start working on it until Wed. The techs did the work after first consulting with Nissan, who sent specific instructions, along with my questionnaire, on the slave cylinder replacement, and ensuring there was no pressure loss with the new unit. They also did the work methodically, with Nissan consulting on every step.

The work and testing took a couple of days. The result so far has been good. I immediately noticed that it felt much better, and it seems the clutch grabs harder now, where as it probably was not doing so before the fix, even when all seemed normal. The difference can be felt during normal and aggressive driving, where there now appears to be no slippage or spongy feeling at all.

Time will tell if the clutch pedal drop fix is permanent, and they are just as interested in the outcome as I am.

Tell them to call Nissan, because they are aware of the problem.

Even if they hadn't heard of the problem, you reported it, that should be enough to get the ball rolling. You may want to contact Nissan direct, as well.

My clutch has gone floppy in the past week. Been thinking of taking it in. Glad to see it's a issue.

Hopefully the issue will be cleared up...keep us posted.

Also hope to see you get into the 12's when the weather cools down, with some good tires, exhaust and this new clutch...we'll see.

So I called up NNA and the lady who I talked towho could barely speak any english said that "NNA had no information regarding any issues with the 2007 350z" I tried to explain that I know they know about the issue because somebody is having theres FIXED. You wouldnt happen to have a case # I could use as a reference for them or my dealership on the issue would you?

Well, I just finished a day of two hour-plus drives and there is a problem, no doubt.

I had the clutch stick four times at least and the floppiness is now probably 70 percent of the clutch play. I'm afraid to drive it any more. No clutch and I'm stranded.

BTW, I just hit 3,000 miles on my 07.

I think we may have a widespread issue. (?)

I'll be calling the service dept. tomorrow morning to schedule some work.

Damn it.

It looks like we will see a recall on this thing... I just hate having anything touched on me car by the dealer!

Nissan gave me a rental, as my car was being repaired under warranty.

I drove an 07 XTerra, and discovered I liked another Nissan.

Nissan of North America is very aware of the problem, talk to someone else, or ask for a supervisor. I really think we need an 07 clutch pedal sticky, which list those with the clutch pedal drop, those who don't have it, and those who have had the current fix.

I will see if I can get a copy of the questionnaire Nissan had me fill out.

Jeez you would think after 5 years Nissan would be able to release a Z without problems. I sure hope this is a recall.

03-05 tranny grind and tire feathering
06 oil consumption
07 bad clutch pedal/slave cylinder?

These arent exactly small issues or easy recall items.

Based on these poll results I am not sure if this is an 07 redesign problem...

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....+sticking+poll

I haven't experienced any clutch issues as of yet (~7000mi), but I have noticed how weak the clutch is for high RPM launches . Haven't seen anything aftermarket yet.

I also have noticed that the clutch doesnt grab as its supposed to. I only had the clutch drop to the floor on me once so I guess it was an isolated incident but Im guessing that due to the weak grabbing of the clutch a trip to the dealer may be in my near future. I drove older Zs and the clutch grabbed much better. Hell my maxima's clutch grabbed better than this!!

By the way veetec did your slipping clutch let you to to burnouts or would it drop to the floor?

Mine's at the dealership today. Tech's couldn't reproduce the issue, so I went for a ride with them and reproduced it half a dozen times. Pedal sinks to the floor on any kind of hard launches from 3-3.5k+ rpms. The clutch isn't that weak, you should be able to feather it and take off without the pedal sinking... dropping the clutch or apply throttle too fast should result in wheel spin.

Just got off the phone with the dealership. Nissan tech line is aware of the problem and apparently there is a revised slave cylinder... I am getting a new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and slave cylinder

Well, I just spent my second trip today to the dealership. They could not replicate the clutch softness or sticking, even though in the afternoon I came back and drove up with it acting up. Second drive I went with the mechanic and he didn't have trouble.

We weren't trying any hard launches, though. The guys asked me to bring it back in the morning. I'll suggest they do some harder launches, 3,000 rpms and up.

I felt like an ***, but I KNOW IT'S NOT WORKING RIGHT. It just comes and goes.

See what happens tomorrow.
