Default Rear axles

Has anyone with boosted applications broken the stock rear axles during "normal" driving conditions (meaning not at the track or drag strip) as a daily driver?

I didn't want to start a new thread, so i'll post my question here:

how much HP/TQ can the stock axles handle before it's wise to upgrade?

I've read 500 but many go higher on stock axles. Keep in mind that the true torque per unit time an axle sees is dependent on several factors (gearing, launch, tires, road/track conditions) in addition to crank tq.

^^^

i see...so would axles be a good investment in a car that will eventually see track time? or should i wait to get the axles when i install the rest of the suspension (new coilovers, sways, brakes, camber kits, etc)? My initial goal is about 500-550rwhp, daily driver, but as i said, eventually it will see split street/track duty?
