From the picture, its just a hose clamp, clean off the rust if it bothers you.
I would guess some water settled on it from a dealer cleaning it or you cleaning it.
That clamp just happen to not have enough of the coating sprayed on it to prevent rust, they're just cheap clamps after all.

Removing the clamp and hose, you will see a brass nibble-- that will not rust, so I there is no real concern about a problem

I would just clean the clamp and surrounding areas, and keep a eye on it from time to time

I cant say its normal, but its hardly a real issue, and not entirely uncommon to see.

It doesn't look like rust to me. Drain a little coolant out, disconnect the hose and clean it. Shouldn't be a real issue.

Looks like surface rust, from the residue that came off the clamp. Its not actually rust and/or rusting

I wouldnt think the plenum would be the source of the rust, but if you want to make sure, you can safely and easily pull back the clamp and pull off the hose.

You should be able to clean the area much easier and get some piece of mind, that its only a cheap clamp and not the plenum.

To me its no big deal

Seriously for a 7 month old car, it shouldnt of happen, the dealer should take care of it for you.

isn't the upper phlenum aluminum? if that is the case then it will not rust. wipe it off and get that clamp changed, all should be ok.

Oil reside from the crankcase breather tube. Not rust. Have the dealership check it out, shouldn't be that much blow-by for a relatively new engine.

...that's not rust, it's a breather tube. Nothing to "give them hell about" - get some simple green and a toothbrush and clean it off

No kidding.

bremboboy, I thought you might be joking. Why would you "give them hell" at the dealership over something so small? Have you even tried to just scrub it off with a brush, or wipe it with some steel wool? A can of WD40 would make it easy to clean off, even if it was just rust. Chalk the cleaning up to maintenance if it bothers you so much. It's not a defect. I am surprised that you would even consider going to the dealership for something so small than can be taken care of yourself.

It's sarcasm, bremboboy. It strikes some as rediculous that you would be this bothered by brown discoloration on your manifold. It's nothing. Just clean it off and replace the hose clamp with a screw-drive clamp from any auto parts store. This way you can clamp it down and be sure it's tight. Or, just leave it alone- your engine will be fine. If you go to the dealership with this, they may well (and I think rightly so) laugh at you.
