Ok, the problem is you should try and learn some more about ur car.. That is a plenum and the part your saying is rusted is a hose clamp.. The hose clamp is the most un important part in the engine bay lol.. jk.. You can either spray some carb cleaner on it.. Or you can easily replace it at any autozone.. Pull it off with some plyers.. Its too easy.. seriously, that part will not effect the performance of your car in any way..

1. get plyers
2. clamp down on it
3. slide it back
4. pull the hose off the plenum
5. take off the clamp and replace it anywhere like autozone etc..

WHOA......slow down there Tex. Are you saying that he should attempt something like that himself, without an ASE Cert mechanic overseeing the operation? What if he gets his hands dirty?

Brembo, Don't listen to this crazy guy. Be smart and take your car to the dealer the first chance you get, before it gets even worse.

not knowing is one thing.....not everyone is an expert here, and even those that do know alot did not always know so much. But frankly the attitude you took in your posts will be regarded as a major "turn off" towards people helping you in the future, and is going to always elicit a barage of people making fun of you.

Word of advice - you might have been better simply posting the pic and asking "anyone seen this sort of discoloration before", vs repeating how you're preparing to make a scene at your dealership, etc etc.

If you really feel this warrants a visit to the dealership, by all means. But you could just as easily pick up a can of brake cleaner, or simple green, and use an old toothbrush or rag to wipe it off yourself...it will take all of 2 minutes to do, and save you a trip to the dealership

Attitude in my post? I think that advice more relates to you. Whats the problem with having the dealer clean something for free instead of me doing it? Seems more logical in my mind

not sure where that inference comes from? Like you said, why would I need to make a scene over a 5 minute small warranty clean/fix that I can have them do at the next oil change?

etiquette? I think it would be proper etiquette if you guys stopped blasting me for no reason....why should i do something that the dealer should do ....why do you, a sponsor, insist on defending the stealership?

I did not defend anyone. In fact, I ANSWERED your question without prejudice, and offered you a way to solve the problem, which is not a big deal, without even having to visit the dealership. If you have so much animosity towards your dealer, then all the more reason to follow the advice I have given you in 2 posts in the this thread at all. You seem to want a confrontation with them, for whatever reason (I am beyond caring at this point),so whatever floats your boat.

In fact, I showed you a lot more respect, and restraint, than you have shown other forum members, in some of your previous posts in other threads.

Either way, good luck.

I don't want a confrontation with them....basically i started out asking ppl a simple question and i got a few genuine responses...with these responses i figured ok ill go to the dealer and make them fix this problem (no matter how tiny) because it should be fixed...and everyone knows how poor the nissan service is. Next thing I know I am being flamed for 1. not knowing the answer to my original question?!??! 2. Apparently wanting to intentionally cause problems with the dealer 3. being rude in my defense of being flamed

let me just say im sorry for asking the question in the first place and im sorry that i caused you guys to give me flaming/helpful/flaming responses

Not sure what that is reffering to either....i dont flame people who have legitimate questions that the forum should help in answering. (such as the initial one in this post)

...and to to date you have even't given a simple thank you to those who DID answer your question, instead focusing on those who teased you. Good luck getting your problem resolved.

helpful answers from other members deserve thanks...not half flaming/insluting/half useful information answers

lol - yeah you EDITED your previous whining posts yesterday (it says so right at the bottom of the post when you do the edits) to say thanks....I guess that is sufficient.

next time, if you don't want to get flamed, just ask a question, and say thank you for the GOOD advice you get the first time...don't whine and complain that "the stealership will get hell", and then backpeddle after the fact - it's very 5th grade.

Anyway, hope you get the issue resolved, with, or without the dealership.
