Default Break-in Oil Change Procedure Question

Hey guys, my 07Z is approaching 1200 miles, actually very close. Now, this question may have been answered before and if it has, forgive me.

I'm curious as to know when would be the most ideal time to change my oil and when it would be a good time to change to synthetic oil. My current plan is to change it with basic dyno at 1200 to get rid of the break-in infested oil and change to synthetic at the first Nissan recommended oil change. However, would it be okay to immediately switch to synthetic right now? What would result in the best for my Z? Gotta put the best in my baby

You will find alot of different views on this subject. Personally, I run conventional during the break-in period. On a new engine I change out at 1500, 3000, then make my last oil change at 6000. Break in period, IMO, is 5k miles. After that I switch to synthetic.

wow thats really interesting actually. My plan is to run conventional, maybe I'll just change conventional for now and see what would work once 3000 comes along.

In sports cars I always run synthetic. The only reason for the conventional oil during break-in period is because of the frequency one has to change it until the engine fully breaks in. It's a waste of money to break a car in with synthetic if you're going to have to change oil out of it's normal intervals.

I changed mine to synthetic at Nissan's first recommanded interval, 3,750 miles.
