Is anyone running these? If so what are your opinions?

Also, does anyone know if they lower the engine like the other solid mounts on the market? I cant run those because then the oil pan would interfere with my GT Spec bracing.

Bump from the past....It seems as though they are the only company that sells Upgraded mounts for the Z...im not sure if mine stock ones are blown, but they surely ****in suck...the only problem I find is that they are so expensive

Hmm wonder how hard these would be to change out never bothered to look at where the mounts are and whats probably in the way.

 

I imagine you would have to pull the engine to put in these mounts.

 

Feel great but they are obviously some that I myself machined. You should still be able to get a set from SVR Technologies I believe. Scott (OverZealous on the forums) is a great guy to deal with an you can get a great set of mounts for a reasonable price.

No, they are about as useful as a grounding kit, UNLESS you need them.

The motor does not have to be pulled to install mounts of any kind

 

i was always told that the stock mounts are actually very sturdy and durable.

 

They are, as are most. Of course when you get into the 500 + HP range Id go solid for sure and personally even in the lower/stock HP range I prefer the feel of a solid mount.

The biggest enemy of Mounts is long term oil contamination that turns the Rubber to Jelly or just 200,000 mile plus natural breakdown

 

OOo interesting. Cuz when I had my SI.. That was like the first mod you would do after intake and exhaust. It was like a must. I mean I had to cuz I tore threw my mounts. But I never heard how strong the Z's mounts are.. Good to know I don't havta worry about this..

That's because a Civic puts out so much more horsepower compared to the Z. I'm on my 43th set for my Hunday.

 

Well I have 60000 miles on my car With me beating the **** out of it all the time I think my mounts are done if i hold a gear then get off I hear and feel a violent thud and notice that my shifter moves a lot.

And no the question wasn't about solid motor mounts it was if any one sells rubber ones that are harder then OEM mounts

 

It means exactly what it says: Unless you HAVE to change them, it's a worthless mod (just like the grounding kit). Tell me what you're having problems comprehending, and maybe I can help.

 

+1, unless you take the motor out for some reason then do it.

 

that's a bunch of crap, I noticed an immediate difference in handling and feel, as well as shifting and clutch engagement when I had solid motor mounts put on...not to mention losing 6 lbs from the heavy stock mounts. Worthwhile mod. I'd do it again without even blinking

 

^^how hard is the install of solid motor mounts on the vq? Labor hours estimate?
